I'm loving life right now:)

Just spent the last few days catching up with a friend who I wasn't sure I'd ever talk to again. Restoration is amazing.

And the California trip last week was incredible. My beautiful cousin got married and I HAVE to show you pics from it- so quirky and personal :)


Now I'm headed to Brianhead for some 4th of July fun!!! Were bringing the pup so hopefully she's not afraid of the fireworks. Do you have pets? How do they handle loud noises? Any tips?

Father's Day

Hi darlings. How are you? Are you pampering the Father's in your life today? I will be spending the day with my father-in-law and the rest of my hubby's family. We will be relaxing at a beautiful home on a golf course here in Vegas. What are your plans? I plan on relaxing, eating some delicious gluten free pizza, and possibly taking a dip in the pool...

I am proud to inform you that there is a new member of my family. Her name is Pia and she is a one year old Shiba Inu mix. She is absolutely beautiful and such a good girl. Here is what she looks like:











We rescued her from a shelter here in Vegas and brought her into her new home last Friday. And she just loves it here! Max's friend from work is an animal trainer and stopped by our house for a little training session with Pia. We were surprised to find out that she already knew how to high five, sit, and come. She is so, so smart. I love being a "mommy." =]

On my mind...

I'm definintely buying this for my momma- she will LOVE it! Can't wait to figure out her bridal shower details.

My next diy project. I already have the heels- now its time for the lace.

Mama's in town!

My mom came into town yesterday afternoon. It as been nothing but eating delicious food since then. Our first stop was Hank's restaurant. It was the most expensive meal my hubby and I had ever paid for-- and my goodness was it worth it!


This morning we went to Hash House A Go-Go.. this place is incredible. You have to go. They label themselves as "Twisted Farm Food" meaning the put a twist on traditional country breakfast foods. Here is what we got:

This bowl of warm granola with fresh fruit was so good and SO filling!

My mom and brother shared this tasty and HUGE plate of rosemary

& sage fried chicken and waffles!

Now my mom and I are sipping on some wine while making some chicken enchiladas. I'm going to have to extend my run tonight... hehe.

These are one of my favorite things to eat! =]

Daydreaming...

So today is officially my first day without work, school, etc. It feels sooo nice to be sitting at home blogging with my Fage greek yogurt with pomegrate doing absolutely nothing! You have no idea!! I finally have time to breathe, to dream up fun recipes I want to try this summer, to think over how I am going to help my mom plan her wedding (YES, she just got engaged!) and daydream about my summer trips. I just adore traveling. First trip on the agenda--- San Francisco (one of my favorite cities). And although our trip isn't until next month I have started to daydream about our trolley rides, the majestic golden gate bridge, and the fun outfits I will be buying or reworking from my own wardrobe! Would you like to take a peek into my brain?

The Graduate

My husband graduated from UNLV yesterday! It was such an amazing thing to witness knowing that all of his hard work going to school had finally paid off. I got all teary eyed when I saw him walk onto the red carpet with all of the other Education majors. Yesterday was spent hanging out with the fam. We went to brunch beforehand at Brio and afterward we went to my in-laws house for burgers and chips and guacamole. BTW my mother-in-law has the most delish guac recipe with sweet peas and onions. You need to try it!! Add all of the normal ingredients into your food processor along with some cilantro, onions, and sweet peas! SO refreshing and per-fect for summer. I had my last final on Thursday night so I am school free for another 3 weeks (before summer school starts.)
