Honeymoon of your Dreams

So my friend, Nicole, gave this awesome book at my engagement party called "The Honeymoon of your Dreams." I read two chapters today and I can't wait to finish the rest...even though I'm going to have to. Darn 237 more days!!! It's okay I'm sure I will learn some awesome things along the way =] This book is really cool though and I high recommend it to anyone who will go on a honeymoon one day.

So far the things that have sparked my interest have been that this book gives you some insight on how the honeymoon is so misinterpreted among our society and the only thing people seem to associate with it is sex. There's so much more! I think I'm really going to like this book because for a long time that along with the accomadations is the only thing I would ever think about concerning my own honeymoon- not the fact that it is the first week of my marriage and is the starting point of it. Whoa! I'm glad I'm going to be learning something new, though, because it really is super discouraging when a lot of my married friends only talk about the "sex" factor and not the actual marriage. That's kinda shallow to me. Two Christians need more advice than just sex tips. But enough complaining from me!

I'm super sleepy today. Goodnight!

21st B-Day!!!

So yesterday I turned 21 and enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing day with my family and bridesmaids at David's Bridal. We picked out the bridesmaids dresses all of the girls would wear. Julie couldn't go since she is in California, but I sent her a picture message of all of the dresses and she gave me her input- Oh technology! It's pretty neat because I think all of my bridesmaids will be wearing a different dress just all in the same color. Kind of fun and quirky.

After we got done picking out the dresses for the wedding I rushed home and got ready for my birthday date with my man! I felt so adorable in my burgundy ruffled dress! As soon as I got to Max's we hopped in his car where my gift was waiting for me. It was wrapped in a cute white Euphoria bag with a card sticking out. The card had a cute dog lounging on its back on the front and inside it said "This birthday you should enjoy some pampering!" along with some cute mushy stuff I will spare you. And he says he doesn't think he's that romantic? Pssh! Inside the bag was a white box and inside that white box was a gift card to Euphoria!! Max is the BEST fiancee in the whole world. So after we opened the gift we headed to the M where the restaurant we ate at was. Veloce Cibo- soo yummy. The place is beautiful. Lemon trees everywhere amongst dark wood designs and an incredible view of the strip. I ordered macadamia nut encrusted scallops and sweet potatoe fries and Max ordered organic chicken with butternut squash on the side with Macaroni and Cheese and we both shared mini lobster tacos for the appetizer- a great meal together. One of our favorite things! I highly recommend it- the M resort, 16th floor. After dinner the server brought out two chocolate covered strawberries for me with a chocolate rectangle that said "happy birthday!" I love food.

After dinner we went back to Max's and there waiting for me on the dining room table was two cards, a cute pink teddy bear and a bag of Lindor dark chocolates. My friends Joe and David had bought me gifts! I have some really great friends. After opening the gifts all of us headed down to 3 Tomatoes and a Mozzarella where all of my friends and some of my family would be singing karoake . The night was amazing! I loved watching my brother, Art, and Max rap together, Randy sing Tom Jones, Jessie dedicate Shakira's "Whenever, Wherever" to me, watching Lucas dance with my mom and aunt, and Max, Randy, Joe, and David sing "God must have spent a little more time" to me! I also walked away with some great gifts too- Season 5 of The Office, strawberry daiquiri bath salt, 3 bottles of wine, a cork remover, really cool wine glasses, a coupon holder, along with a great night with my friends!

After karaoke, me, max, and my big brother and sister went to LAX. It was really fun, but super crowded. After an hour Max and I decided to leave because it was getting late, but the card ride home was great! I just kept telling him that was the best birthday ever and that I had so much fun. Thanks family, friends, and Max! I will remember last night forever!!

Adieu.

Engagement Party

So the engagement party went way better than expected. I thought for sure my dad would ruin it by embarrassing me- which surprisingly did not happen. Probably due to all of the prayer that went into it before hand. I just had to remember to not be anxious, but to ask God for it to go smoothly- which it totally did.
The food was DELISH!! We had cheese fondue with veggies, apples, and crackers. There was also meatballs, garlic butternut squash soup, and yummu chicken salad. And for dessert we had chocolate fondue with fruit and my mom brought a cake with a picture of me and Thomas for our birthday. It was so mindblowing to see Max and my family get along and talk and laugh for hours. My future mother in law, Jill, did such a good job! I love her! At the party she pulled me aside and said, "Drea, if I ever had a daughter I would want her to be just like you." OH my gosh, right- SO cute!!
So all of this food was amazing and I felt so pretty wearing my black dress my mom had bought me that day, but what made it even better was the gifts! I'm getting married and turned 21 that night- and I get gifts on top of everything else?! I'm SO grateful and blessed. Max's aunt Joni got me a cute Lolita martini glass that said 21 all over it along with cute post it notes that said "Wedding To-Do List" on the top of it, and Nicole and Ben gave me a book "The Honeymoon of your Dreams" and the best gift of the entire night came from Jill and Mike. They got me pearls!! Pearl earrings with a pearl necklace and a pearl bracelet! The thought of crying that night had only entered my mind if my dad had ended up ruining the night, but at the moment I opened their gift tears swelled in my eyes. It was the perfect night. Having my whole family there and them getting along with Max's family was the only thing I could have ever asked for.
