Jessie's Wedding

This past Sunday my best friend, Jessica got married. It sounds like such a simple statement to put it in that three word phrase (she got married). But is so was not.

It was so fulfilling to me and I know it was to her as well. To be there during her excited anxiety, her calm tears, her tearful and perfect vows, and everything in between was an honor. It was an honor to be her matron of honor does that make me old now? with my very good friend, Nicole. It is funny to think that when I look back on that weekend I will remember it just as if it were yesterday. And it is funny to think that I would have been a bride before I was anyone's bridesmaid. I have never been to a winter wedding until 2 days ago and I'm so glad that the very first one I was ever at my Jessie's. The snow was such a great idea. I was scared out of my mind that the huge pile of snow that was completely covering her aisle and where all of the guests were supposed to sit the day before the wedding would not be shoveled and done in it. But somehow I knew it would be taken care of, and so did she. She actually had to calm Nicole and my nerves about it.

Her vintage, lace ivory gown laying against the shimmering snow was the most beautiful thing. She embodied pure confidence as she walked down the aisle to her man, her husband. I wish that I could have seen her face while she was reciting her vows, but it was almost even more special to me that I stood behind her and had the perfect view of Tanner's face. Tanner's face was mush as he held in his big crocodile tears, until it was his turn to recite his. He held in his cries and loudly shouted that Jess would now become his first priority above all his earthly things. And I love Jessie's last two lines of her vows and still can't recite them in my head without crying.

I will never give up on you,
I will never give up on us.

Ahhhh, can you say cry fest? As Max and I laid down to go to sleep that night, we both said that was our favorite part of the vows.

So needless to say it was an amazing representation of God's love for us.

And needless to say, I may or may not be planning a 5 yr anniversary ceremony so I can borrow steal all of the cute ideas that made Jess and Tanner's day so personal.

Adieu
